Notification of site works - Stormwater system investigations 26-28 August 2019

City of Parramatta Council is preparing concept designs to transform Charles Street Square at Parramatta Quay, one of a number of planned foreshore improvement projects that will strengthen the connection between our city and its river.

To support this work, stormwater pipe investigations will be undertaken by Council’s specialist consultants commencing Monday 26 August 2019.

Work will take place between 7am-5pm, Monday to Friday. Subject to weather and site conditions, work is expected to be completed in three days.

While Council does not anticipate this work will be disruptive, please email charlesstsquare@cityofparramatta.nsw.gov.au or contact Council’s Charles Street Square project team on (02) 9806 5050 if you have any further questions or concerns.

Stormwater investigations

This work will involve a crew of specialists opening eighteen stormwater drain covers within the foreshore area and adjoining streets in order to feed camera equipment into the system and complete a condition report.

An exclusion zone of approximately 3m x 3m around each stormwater access point will be created with barricades to accommodate a work van and equipment.

Staff will direct pedestrians around the site as required and vehicle access to 36 Charles Street and 90 Phillip Street will be maintained.

Once investigations are complete, marks will be painted onto the road/paved surface surrounding the access pit, the stormwater cover will be reinstated and barricades removed. Stormwater access covers will be closed and all equipment will be removed from site at the end of each day.
