Urban Heat and Real-Time Environmental Monitoring
The OATH (Outdoor Ambient Temperature Hierarchies of Parramatta) environmental monitoring project is a collaboration between Western Sydney University (WSU) and the City of Parramatta Council.
Over 120 temperature sensors were installed throughout the Parramatta Local Government Area over the summer of 2018-19 to monitor temperature variations. For more information, see the Benchmarking Heat in Parramatta report.
A mini-weather station has also been installed in Centenary Square in Parramatta’s CBD that collects real-time localised environmental data. To view the dashboard, see the Centenary Square Weather Station page.
