Site update - Geotechnical works Friday 7 June 2019

As part of early environmental investigation works to support the transformation of Charles Street Square, a geotechnical survey will be undertaken by Council’s specialist consultants commencing Friday 7 June 2019.

Work will take place between 7am-5pm and is expected to be completed in one day (subject to weather and site conditions).

While Council does not anticipate this work to be intrusive or cause disruption, please email CharlesStSquare@cityofparramatta.nsw.gov.au  or contact Council’s Charles Street Square project team on 9806 5050 if you have any further questions or concerns.

Geotechnical works

This work will involve drilling small boreholes (around 10cm in diameter), to a depth of up to six metres in three locations across the site. Testing will require the use of a range of equipment including a ute-mounted auger.

For safety, an area around each borehole will be closed to the public, with staff directing pedestrians around the test sites as required. Once the borehole has been reinstated, capped and the area certified for safe use, the test site will be reopened.
