Construction on Parramatta River’s long-awaited Escarpment Boardwalk will shortly commence construction in the CBD.
This river-level pedestrian and cyclist connection on the river’s north side will allow walkers, cyclists, those in wheelchairs or with prams to skip the steep climb up to Gasworks Bridge and avoid crossing busy Macarthur Street, also helping reduce delays for motorists.
New sets of stairs up to Stewart Street and Macarthur Street will also ensure safe and direct access for the public and students of Macarthur Girls High School.
Construction is expected to be completed by early 2021, however this may change as construction progresses.
The Parramatta Ferry will be closed for a portion of the construction period, with Ferry replacement buses to run between Parramatta and Rydalmere.
Please check back shortly for the exact dates of ferry closure.
